24 Hours in Nowhere
24 Hours in Nowhere, by Dusti Bowling, tells about kids in the dry desert of Nowhere, Arizona. The main character’s name is Gus, and he gets bullied by Bo. Gus is the smallest one in his whole grade. Bo is a boy that bullies him almost everyday. Gus is getting bullied and Bo is making him eat a cactus when Gus’ friend, Rossi, comes and trades her bike so Gus doesn't have to eat a cactus. The problem is there is a big race after she traded her bike. Bo says they have to do what he says if they want the bike back. He said to go in the most dangerous mine and get a piece of gold for him. When Gus and his friends go in the cave, they encounter many obstacles. 24 Hours in Nowhere is full of interesting action. I like all the characters, but I like Rossi the most because she's active like me. I learned something new from this book: a javelina is a pig rat. A personal connection I had to this book is I see a dirt bike course every time I go visit my grandpa, and I am attracted to it...
