Theseus in the Minotaur

Theseus in the Minotaur by E2BN.org describes how Theseus defeats the Minotaur. Theseus felt bad that innocent people were being fed to Minotaur. The people were being fed to Minotaur to avoid war. Theseus wanted to stop this so he went to be one of the people to be fed to the monster. He was able to kill Minotaur. I like this story because it was very short. I like all the drama. I would recommend this book to people who like drama and who care about other people. I did not like that the father killed himself even though Thesius was alive. I would rate this book 9.5 out of 10.

Turning the tide

Turning the Tide by Shay Maunz describes everything beneath the ocean. There are cool shipwrecks and much more beneath the ocean. The book talks about coral reefs and fallen bridges. It tells you about this giant coral reef and its history. The book contains many things about the ocean that you might not have known. The book has lots of words that I didn't know and I liked the book from the start. I also like that this book is very short and not that long. I like all the details included about the coral reef and what lies beneath it. I also liked the pictures because they made sense. I would recommend this short story to people who like the ocean and adventures.

Loser

Loser by Jerry Spinelli describes how a young boy named Zincoff thinks about school. Zincoff, the main character is very different from the others. Zincoff has to go to school, deal with all the bullies, and make friends. But Zincoff was not like the others, he didn't care what the boys thought and didn't want to make friends. Zinkoff made friends with the teacher. As Zinkoff got older he started to love school more and more. I liked this book because it's unique in its own way. I like that Zinkoff is not “normal” and he is different. I would recommend this book to people who like adventure, humor, and perseverance. If I had to rate this book out of 10 it would be a 9.5 out of 10. But overall this book is amazing and I think you would like the book.

Birth of an Island

Birth of an Island, by Millicent E. Selsam, describes how an island is created. An Island is created by a volcano erupting. The lava goes higher and higher until it breaks the surface of the water. Over time the lava breaks apart and turns into softer ground. Next, millions of different types of bacteria and spores are blown onto the island by the wind. Then, different types of plants start to grow on the Island. Once there are plants on the island, insects can survive. Seeds such as coconuts float on the ocean and arrive at the island and start to grow. Birds now come to the island because they can eat the insects and plants. More animals then come to the island like mice, snakes, and lizards. Some of the animals come to the island on branches, logs, and debris. The authors' purpose is to inform the reader. The visuals the author included in the book help me understand how an island is created. I was surprised when I learned that animals get ...

malala

Malala Yousafza, by Robin. S Doak, tells about Malala and all of her accomplishments. Malala, the main character, was born on July 12th, 1997—Malala wanted all women to be treated the same as men. However, she lived in Pakistan and they think the opposite. The Taliban banned girls from going to school, so Malala's family tried to find a way for girls to continue their education. Malala and her family helped girls secretly go to school, but one day Malala was brutally shot by a member of the Taliban on her way home from school. In the end, Malala gave a speech and ended up winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Malala’s story shows that anyone can accomplish anything if they work hard for it. From this book I learned women don't get treated the same way everywhere. I did not know that there are different rules for women in Pakistan, and I think that is not fair. I can't believe when Malala got shot in the head she survived.
