Her hand held the Stars

Her hand held the Stars by Rebecca Birch describes how a little girl that has never seen the Stars gets to see the stars on her hands. The little girl has begged her dad to let her see the stars just once but her dad values education and math more than the stars. So the next night she notices that there is a star pattern on her hands. And when she goes to tell her mother this her mother knows that this would happen. So will the little girl be able to see the stars for the first time or will the little girl be able to see the stars for the first time or will she not read to find out? I really like this book because I was scared for the little girl because I wanted her to see the stars even though her Dad wouldn't let her. I want her to see the stars because I could not imagine never seeing the stars ever which made me sad. I thought this book was interesting because all the characters had different emotions. The little girl girls emotions were that she really wanted to see the star...

Heard Behavior

Heard Behavior by Common lit describes how different types of animals and people behave in a group. Animals Clump up when there is a predator near and they behave similarly to protect each other. People also have heard mentality that when they see someone do one thing they think that they can do it too. An example of this is when the Denver Nuggets won the NBA final championship and there was a riot in Denver. It is safe to assume that if one person throws a rock out of the window then another person will because they think it's okay. after the stem shooting happened we all went to the gym and clumped up together in a circle just like it described it in the book just like it describes it in the book.

Should Students Wear Uniforms

Should Students Wear Uniforms? by Time for Kids describes how the students have different opinions about whether they should or should not have uniforms. In the book, it had two different opinions if they should or should not have uniforms. In the book, it said that they should have uniforms because it makes the students feel included like a team, and stops bullying. In the book it says that they shouldn't have uniforms because the school has to pay for the uniforms. That's expensive! Personally, I would not want to wear uniforms because I like to have a free choice of what I get to wear in the morning. Another reason why is that I know what my own clothing feels like and I don't know what the school uniform feels like, and it could be uncomfortable. I really like this book because it is a very short book but it is very detailed with lots of information.

The story of a Lazy Boy

The story of a Lazy Boy by Sidney Endle describes how a boy is late for planting his seeds so he has to try to find the seasons. The boy wanted to find the season so that he could eat and live. They believe that the seasons are a god and he prays to the seasons to let him plant his seeds so he can eat. So he goes to see if he can find the season and he asks lots of people if they can help him find the season so he can plant the seeds. But no one can. So will he survive or will he find the season so he can grow his crops and eat, read to find out. I really like this book because it was very short but very descriptive. Although they didn't tell me the name of the boy I knew that he really wanted to eat but he couldn't find the season. I really like that it didn't tell me what type of time it was but I knew that it was a native boy. I also really like this book because it had words that I didn't know.

’Football: The Ultimate Guide

‘’Football: The Ultimate Guide,’’ by James Buckley Jr., describes all the different rules and famous players from when the NFL started, to right now. The NFL started in 1920 and in 1920 football was not the same as it is right now. Back then, they used leather as helmets but right now they use plastic and a bunch of pads so they don't get concussed. Also, they have made a lot more teams than there were in the 1920s. Another thing that has changed is the shoulder pads back then they barely had any gear on their shoulders and chest. The NFL also used pigskin for their old footballs and now they use leather. Back in the 1920s they just used plain old grass, but now they used turf. They changed it to Turf because it will cost less and it will take less time instead of watering it day after day. I like this book because it taught me more about one of my favorite sports. I like this book because it talks about some of my favorite players and all about their careers. Another reason why ...

Salt in His Shoes

Salt in His Shoes by Deloris Jordan describes all the trouble Michael Jordan has been through. Micahel Jordan was short when he was a kid and he wanted to get taller. He went to his mom and asked how he could get taller. His mom said, “Put salt in your shoes.” The rest of the day he was dreaming about being taller. But as the days passed he realized he had not grown even a centimeter. He started to practice day and night. There was a bully who always made fun of him for his height. He went out to go play with his brothers and the bully did the usual trash talking to him. They played a game against each other and Michael scored the winning point! I think this book is really good because it tells all the details of his childhood and how he fought through the tough times. I would rate this book a nine out of 10. I had to recommend this book I would recommend it to grades 4th through 6th grade. This book is very short but it does have words that I didn't know of. So if you want t...

Snow Treasure

Snow Treasure by Mary McSwagan describes how a little boy and his friends smuggle gold from Nazi Norway. The main character Peter and some of his friends are trying to keep the Germans from having money. During the children's mission, Peter Rose snowballs at the Commander's ear. Peter is eventually caught and put in prison. He gets rescued eventually by a Nazi Soldier and he brings him out to the boat and they leave with the gold. Uncle Victor, Peter, and the Nazi Soldier took the gold to America. I like this book because it had a ‘call to action’ and I was sucked into it. I felt concerned about Peter and his family because the Nazis invaded Norway, and Nazis are known for being dangerous.
